Due to the impacts of Cyclone Debbie, which caused widespread damage to rail infrastructure, a decision was made to Temporarily Close the Mackay office.
The ports of Hay Point and Dalrymple Bay are undergoing seabed surveys checking for siltation in the shipping channels and berths. The worst damage reported has been to the railways, specifically the Goonyella rail line that connects a many of the Bowen Basin coalfields to the Mackay Ports. A significant number of landslides were reported in this region, requiring engineering assessments that have been indicated to take as much as five weeks to repair.
Our staff will be on annual leave during this time, we aim to re-open May 15th, for any concerns, questions please contact us via email at: Mackay @ coalpetrography.com
